We're almost through winter. Spring is a month and a half away. And keeping hydrated is no easy feat in this deep freeze that we've been having lately.

I admit, my skin has taken a beaten. All we can do is pray that mother nature has mercy on us. In the meantime...below I provide some tips to help you soldier through.

Drink water I know it's been said time and time again. But, it's true. During the summer most peoples water intake usually increases due to the heat. But drinking water is just as important in the winter to stay hydrated. If you're having trouble getting those 8 glasses a day in, try adding fruit to change things up a little.
If you're not a big water drinker, try eating more water dense fruits and vegetables like cucumbers, strawberries or broccoli.

Moisturize your hair
A deep conditioner is a great way to give your hair some tlc. Especially if it's feeling a little dry or brittle. Slather it on, put on a disposable shower cap and leave on for a good 20 to 30 minutes before rinsing out. Look at it this way. This is a great time to straighten up a little, or catch up on dishes. And It’s a great excuse to check out your social media while passing time.
Keep in hair from drying out can also be problematic during these months. So, try a good leave in conditioner at night before you go to bed. Then put hair up, braid or cover up with sleeping to hold in moisture and prevent breaking and split ends.

Oil up During the winter is when your skin especially craves moisture. Mine seems to soak it up. And as we all know, excessive dryness can lead to cracking and other irritations. Nivea in shower nourishing body lotion is a great way to combat that. You just apply it to your wet skin after you shower. For moisture that lasts up to 24 hours.
Below I list a few of my favorite products:
Neutrogena body oil is another great product. You can add to your bath water or use in shower to get silky smooth skin. And apply to damp skin afterwards. This oil absorbs into skin quickly leaving skin soft and moisturized all day.
- And, if you're a 'makeupjunkee' like me you know how important it is to cleanse your face daily. Moisturizing is a big part of that. Sleeping with makeup on can clog your pores and cause breakouts.
Tatcha pure one step cleansing oil This oil is a blend of camellia and rice brand oil. That cleanses and conditions your skin while removing even the most stubborn waterproof makeup.
Bare minerals complexion rescue tinted hydrating gel cream is also a great product that's the best of a bb cream, a cc and a tinted moisturizer all rolled into one. With a 215% increase in skin hydration in just one week! Available in original, Matte, ready or bare skin.
Monoi body glow Gives skin a radiant glow with a subtle tropical scent. It's a lightweight oil Infused with Tahitian Garden. Each bottle contains the Tiare Flower in bottle to capture the essence of this unique process. Its been used for years in the French Polynesian culture for its medicinal, soothing, moisterizing and protecting benefits.
Side note: oil will solidify if under 72 degrees. But will not change or alter product quality. Just submerge bottle in warm water or rub between hands to melt again.
Keep in hair from drying out can also be problematic during these months. So, try a good leave in conditioner at night before you go to bed. Then put hair up, braid or cover up with sleeping to hold in moisture and prevent breaking and split ends.
For all over moisture fromyour hair, elbows to your feet try Morrocan pure argan oil. Great for splint ends.

Healthy fats can also do wonders for your body and skin. AKA flaxseed, walnuts, and avocados. For shiny hair, glowing skin, healthy skin and nails ,Load up on monounsaturated fats high in omega 3 fatty acids.

Spring has officially sprung. Eventhough it still feels like winter. And these products and tips are also good year round. Soon We'll be complaining about too much humidity. Never happy right? Lol
