Is Anastasia Beverly Hills New Subculture Palette A Hit Or Miss?

So, with all the talk about the new Anastasia Beverly Hills Subculture palette, I decided to jump on the bandwagon myself and give my own two cents.

There's been a lot of buzz lately on the internet about the new Anastasia Beverly Hills Subculture Palette. And a lot of mixed reviews. For some, they loved it. And some didn't. There's been a lot of complaints about fallout, streakiness and patches. And also reports of bad batches. Some have said once they returned it and received a new one, it was fine.

The formula IS really powdery. Which is really obvious. However, the main ingredient is Talc. The same thing used to make baby powder.

After so much success with Subcultures sister palette Modern Renaissance, so many people had high expectations.

The palette comes in 14 shades, with one repeat color and it's own brush. It is very pigmented. But, isn't that what we all want and love after all? So, a little goes a long way. Which is one of the big mistakes that many people are making. You have to be light handed when dipping into the palette. Being too aggressive has also led to hitting pan a lot faster. Another problem many users had.

One of the biggest gripes so far has been about the kickback. And the terrible fallout when applying. I would advise doing your eyes first when using this palette for the very reason and do not wear anything that could be damaged.

The colors also do not blend very well, so it might be best to just go with a single shade, That could also be due to the fact that are so pigmented.

So, all in all, I like the palette myself. Was I a little disappointed? Yes. But, overall it is a good palette as long as you keep certain things in mind.

At the end of the day, you will have to make your own conclusion. It's all just a matter of opinion. The love it or hate it polls are split right down the middle. It retails for 42.00$. If you would like to give it a try, you can get it here.
